8 Ways To Create Time Leverage

8 Ways To Create Time Leverage

Create Time Leverage? Yes you must leverage your time if you want high levels of success in life – your time is incredibly precious and you must use it wisely because once its gone its NEVER coming back.

#1) Learn, grow or imagine while you drive or travel.

Never before have I read (listened) to so many books than before Audible. Audible has changed my world when it comes to driving and learning.

Listening to audio books is a fantastic way to create time leverage.

Growing up I used to avoid reading books because I hated it so much; I thought it was so boring. I would ask myself: who the hell reads a book for fun?

In my early 20’s I finally woke up and the power of books clicked to me. I developed a healthy fascination and appetite for reading.

You cant read a book while you drive a car but you can listen to one – why not learn a new concept, a piece of ancient history or a new negotiating tactic while you drive to work?

When you focus on the road and listen to an audio book its a unique experience; you have to be alert to drive the car so your senses are heightened (If they aren’t you shouldn’t be behind the wheel). While they are in this heightened state your brain can consume and absorb material incredibly well.

Try it, I guarantee you wont be disappointed when you have the right book.

Start with ‘The Millionaire Fastlane” by MJ DeMarco.

#2) Pursue financial endeavors that enable you to create a product once but sell it again and again.

It took me way to long to start doing this but better late than never. Get on to it faster than I did!

The sooner you understand this critical concept for time and wealth creation (and put it into action) the better.

This is probably the most powerful way to create time leverage.

It works because you only need to invest the time once but you keep reaping the rewards over and over and over again – often with just a small amount of maintenance to keep it going.

There is no need for long winded explanations on this one the concept is simple so get to work.

#3) Enlist the services of others.

If you can pay someone to do something and it costs you less than you currently earn per hour or on average DON’T do it yourself.

Your time is better spent working on something else (like a new product or skill) or doing something you actually want to do.

If all of your time is occupied by doing this and that then you cant use your time to achieve your goals. You must create time leverage by employing the service of others.

Now obviously if you are starting with humble beginnings it may not make sense to do this straight away but as soon as you can pay others to get things done to free yourself up to do bigger and better things do it!

You are not only helping yourself but you are enabling others to earn the income they need.

As Grant Cardone said “Should Elon Musk wash his own Tesla? I’m sure his time would be better spent inventing a new battery that could make that Tesla go forever”

#4) Be Strategic with your time and money.

Do you put any thought into planning your quarter or year from a time management perspective?

You can plan your year around leveraging public holidays, off-season rates (so your money goes further – giving you more time) or being at work while everyone is away (its often the the quiet times when you can create additional time leverage).

Let’s face it, if you are on a wealth building journey or building the life of your dreams there is probably a limit to the amount of time off or money you can allocate for ‘holidays’.

You might be working for someone else at the moment and you might have ambitions of starting your own business and for a period you will probably need to do both at the same time before you can jump ship properly.

Be strategic with your calendar, leverage the holidays that are already there and do the opposite of the heard; go on leave when everyone is in the office and don’t take leave when everyone else is – you’ll probably find you can:

A) get the leave approved much easier (not competing with everyone else)

B) get more bang for your buck (with off-season rates)

C) have the ability to juggle other tasks since when there is not a lot of people around (you typically have more capacity and freedom).

D) can extend your leave using National or Public holidays.

Taking a more strategic approach with your time and money will yield results so start re-planning now.

#5) Stop selling all of your time for money.

If you sell all of your precious time for money you will be stuck in the ‘rat race’ forever GUARANTEED.

There is no getting off of the hamster wheel if you DON’T GET OFF OF THE DAM HAMSTER WHEEL.

Yes you may need a job for now or to pay the bills but if you don’t ever leave the 9-5 Jive you’ll never ‘make it’ with few exceptions in the sales or executive arenas (which barely anyone achieves early in their life).

Note: If you are still working a job for now and your not earning 100K yet read this.

There is no point in working like a slave for 50 years to ‘retire’ when you need eye surgery and a heart transplant so you can ‘enjoy life’.

Work smart and sell something other than all of your TIME.

#6) Ditch the possessions that own you, yes OWN YOU.

The ones you think you own but they actually own you. They need maintenance, servicing, protection or insurance and you rarely or barely use them.

You are beholden to these things that you thought would make you happy but they just add to your list of things to look after and cost you time and money – you should use it or lose it.

Less stuff to pay for and worry about = more money, time and freedom to do what matters.

Better yet if you sell them your bank balance could increase instantly bringing you closer to another financial goal.

#7) Schedule time in your week where you SMASH your jobs out

The more you get done the more you can get done. The old saying goes “if you want something done quickly; give it to a busy person”. It sounds like an oxymoron but its not. Busy people get a lot done because THEY WANT TO GET A LOT DONE.

If I needed help with something I would give it to a BUSY person over someone who constantly has capacity.

People have capacity because they have avoided taking things on to keep their plate free. They are deliberately in a state of low productivity which should be your first warning sign.

When your in a winning streak or you’ve got momentum its easy to keep momentum, if you finished your jobs early move to the next ones and smash those out as well.

Your good work ethic begets more good work ethic and you’ll be getting record runs on the board in no time.

After everything is done you’ll have spare time to plot and plan what needs doing next and you’ll get a sense of reward from your labor.

Working with an intense focus and drive lets you get so much more done – if you find yourself in this state run with it and go do not stop!

#8) DELETE YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA PERMANENTLY AND NEVER LOOK BACK.

So many people waste so much time trying to get endorphin fixes from a virtual reality comprised of pixels depicting images and text from fake friends. They center their thoughts around phony keeping up with the Jones-es posts and people they barely know. Could they rely or or connect with these people offline properly? probably not.

Social media companies have invested massive amounts of money in finding ways to MAKE you addicted to their garbage while they sell your data to every man and his dog because YOU are their product.

Worse still they AB test methods for changing and controlling your emotions. You need to be in control of your own emotions!

Take your privacy back, tell your family and friends to call you or come over for dinner and delete the crap forever.

You’ll be amazed at how much time you find.

“But I stay in contact with people using the XYZ Facebook group”. DELETE THE DAM GROUP and use another application; there are 100’s of dedicated applications used for connecting with people that don’t distract or spy on you.
